WiFi Heatmap is also covered by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement, which applies to every app bought through the App Store. Where these terms and Apple's disagree, Apple's take precedence.
A licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own purposes. You may use it commercially — surveying homes for clients is a fine use of it — but you may not resell, redistribute or repackage the app itself.
WiFi Heatmap is free to download. Scanning a room and building the 3D model are free. A one-off Lifetime purchase or a yearly subscription unlocks the full coverage map for every room, room scoring, repeater placement and shareable reports.
This matters more than the usual boilerplate, so it is worth stating plainly.
iOS does not expose WiFi signal strength to third-party apps. WiFi Heatmap therefore measures network performance — round-trip time, variation, packet loss and throughput — and scores rooms on that. It does not report radio signal strength, and any figure it shows is a measurement of behaviour rather than of the radio itself.
Repeater placement suggestions estimate indoor reach using a fixed assumption. Walls, floors and materials the app cannot see through will change the real result. Treat suggestions as a well-informed starting point, not a guarantee.
The app is a diagnostic tool for consumer use. It is not a certified site-survey instrument and should not be relied on where a formal RF survey is required.
Reports you export are yours. You are responsible for what you do with them, including any claim you make to a provider or landlord on the basis of one.
The app is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from its use, including decisions made about hardware or service providers on the basis of its measurements. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
